Free Tax Tip No. 329: Starting a New Business Series (1 of 4) Return to
List of Tips

Tax Tip Bonus!

I've been asked to teach an introductory class on setting up a business and utilizing the tax law to your advantage. The class will begin on Tuesday, February 5 at 8:00 P.M. central and will continue each Tuesday through February 26. Each class will be a different subject independent of each other, although related. I will present for 15 to 20 minutes and then open the floor to questions.

The class will be held live through Talk Rooms Online. You will be able to hear my voice, see slides on the screen, and email me. I will either answer your question during the class or respond directly through email if you prefer.

The cost for the series of four classes is only $25 for clients (if we did work for you in 2007, you're a client) or $35 for non-clients. To register, complete the attached registration form (on SSC Forms icon to your left) and email it to taxtips@schwartzsystems.com, fax it to 515-274-4986, or call us at 1-800-344-5155. Payment is required at the time of registration. If this series is successful, I will repeat it later in the year.

Tax Tip:

I have had several questions from brand new people in business, and I am starting a short series on surviving your first year in business.

The biggest mistake most people make is they feel that just because they have a wonderful business idea and they recognize the wonderful potential, everyone else will do the same.

In order for a business to make it in the long run, it must make money. The first thing you must do is research your idea and feel comfortable that you can follow through with enough knowledge to make people believe and buy your product. There is a fine line between research to have enough knowledge and getting stuck in the research and never following through with the idea.
