Thank all of you for participating in our contest. The cow is a Holstein, full sized and is in the entry way of our Des Moines office. Howard fell in love at a charity auction and had to have it. So we do. Trixie was the winner in a landslide but since the person who put in the name did not sign their name, April XV is the winner. Thanks to Kyle for submitting that. Also, thank you to Shirley and Chuck who suggested we call her Ms ERy (misery) April XV, since that is what it is for everyone. Anyway, we have had fun and as soon as I can figure it out, we will post her picture on our website!
In the next few tax tips, I will be talking about ways to help audit proof your Schedule C business. The IRS has been doing audits as usual. Taxpayers whose audits result in paying nothing or next to nothing are the ones who can DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. As I always say, little pieces of paper are proof of what you have done. Keep copies of everything you do, notes on all business meetings and lunches, dinners, breakfasts as well as everything you buy. I will be elaborating in the future.
This information is provided in an effort to help you gather and organize the information necessary to file your individual or small business income tax return. While these financial tools are not a substitute for financial advice from a qualified professional, they can be used as a starting point in your decision making process.
